After last weeks goal fest against Raunds Black, we were
this week up against a much stronger Raunds Blue side. The
early exchanges saw both teams looking to dominate but with
Liam and Max combining well it was never going to be too long
before we went ahead and from a break down the left Liam burst
into the area and shot to put us 1-0 up. Kyran was working
very hard in midfield and Lucaas and Charlie were keeping
things tight at the back but from some slack marking Raunds
should have got back in the match only a good save from Kern
kept us 1-0 up. Max then won the ball on the half way line
and ran at the Raunds defence and slotted the ball past their
keeper to make it 2-0.Half time.
Scott on for Lucaas, Harry on for Kyran. The 2nd half saw
Raunds put us under the most pressure any team has this season,
only some fine goalkeeping from Kern a couple of last ditch
tackles from Scott and Charlie and the woodwork kept Raunds
at bay, after being on the back foot for most of the half
Harry put the game out of reach with a good left foot finish
to make the final score 3-0.
Another game where we have been good in the 1st half and
not so good in the 2nd but we still came away with a 3-0 victory
to keep our good run going. Well done!
