A howling gale raging against them and a month of competitive
inactivity showed the ring rustiness of Thrapston in the
first half as they punched below their weight in the first
half. Thrapston took the lead through Alexander Palmer in
the 12th minute but never controlled the centre of the ring
and lived on their good luck until the stroke of half time,
when conceding a penalty to leave the game even at half time.
Words of encouragement (the politically correct interpretation
of the managers soliloquy) at half time and the wind in our
sails saw a bludgeoning second half as the heavy weight attacking
force of Alexander Palmer and Ryan Caller set about battering
the Burton defence. Palmer secured his hatrick and Caller
chipped in with one. However their good work created the
opportunities for the midfield to join the party – William
Morrison and Tyrone Love both bagging a brace.
So another convincing second half performance illustrated
exactly what Thrapston are capable of … and the fantastic
run of results continues.
