This weeks opposition were the much improved Ise
Falcons. Straight from the K.0 it was obvious this
was going to be a tough and very physical game. With
the Falcons sitting deep, it was up to us to try
and break down their well organised defence. With
Jack and Alistair doing some good work down the flanks
and Harry spreading the play in midfield we were well on
top but this week we found ourselves up against a
keeper on top of his game, save after save denied
us a healthy half time lead.
Half time 0 - 0.
2nd Half. Liam on for Jack and Scott on for Alistair.
The 2nd half continued in much the same vein as the 1st
with us in control but unable to break down the Falcons
defence. From a succession of corners, with Joe and Charlie
pushing forward surely it would only be a matter of time
before we took the lead, but no matter what we threw
at the Falcons keeper he still held firm. At the other
end Kern was enjoying another quiet morning but when he
was called upon late in the game he made a good save diving
to his left to turn away a shot. Final score 0 - 0.
A good performance from us but we came up against a
very good keeper today who was determined to keep a clean
sheet.
