A much changed line up this week gave us a chance to
experiment against the Hawks who were full of confidence
following their win last week. Right from the K.O we tore
at the Hawks who were immediately on the back foot. From
a good move down the left Liam smashed a left foot shot
into the Hawks net to put us 1 - 0 up. With the pitch cutting
up very badly particularly in the goalmouths it was becoming
increasingly more difficult to find the back of the net,
in fact on 2 occasions with the Hawks keeper beaten, the
ball stopped on the goal line to prevent us going further
ahead. With us now in complete control Alistair
soon made it 2 - 0 after some great build up play. Max made
it 3 - 0 to take us to half time 3 - 0 to the good.
2nd Half Although in total control we were finding it
hard to increase our 1st half lead. With us pushing further
forward the Hawks penalty box was becoming very congested and
at times resembling a pinball machine with the ball
pinging around. Scott made it 4 - 0 with a great
finish and then the flood gates opened. Scott added another,
5 - 0 then a quick double from Max made it 7 -0. Jack
finished the job with a great run and finish to complete
the scoring. Final score 8 - 0.
Another good performance on a pitch that didn't help
us at all. A big thank you to Joe and Charlie for sharing
the Goalkeeping duty in the absence of Kern.
