In a fast paced game it was Thrapston that ended up on top
in the local derby. Thrapston took an early lead with
a good goal from Matthew Smith.
With the threat of a hair cut hanging over him, and a belly
full of bacon and eggs, Luke Stevens was back on form!! About
time we all say!!!! After he slotted home Thrapston’s
second. Unlike the previous week Thrapston worked tirelessly
and were never really threatened by a hard working Raunds
team.
The second half was a continuation of the first with Thrapston
adding to their first half goals with Luke scoring his second
and Connor Gates (The Raunds exile!!!) scoring Thrapston’s
fourth. Raunds however continued to hassle the Thrapston
defence and were rewarded with a fine taken goal towards
the end of the game.
After the recent poor performances Thrapston looked more
like the team we know, with hard work and endeavor paying
off. All in all today’s game was a great advert for
kids who above all just love playing this great game…..….football.
For all his hard work and great defending skills “Man
of the Match” today deservedly went to Sam Pendred.
