After the weather had taken it's toll over the last
few weeks and caused 3 games to be cancelled, at last
it was time to get back to business on a Sunday morning.
And what a way to start against a very strong Grange side
who like ourselves had only lost once this season. Straight
from the K.O you could tell that everybody was very much
up for it. and we tore at Grange who didn't know what had
hit them. Wave after wave of attack rained in on the Grange
goal and we should have punished them but didn't take our
chances,.Max then cut inside from the left, beat 2 players
and buried the ball in the bottom corner. 1 - 0. Grange then
realising that this was going to be a very tough game, started
to attack and right on the stroke of half time
snatched an equaliser. 1 - 1
2nd Half and it's game on.We are playing uphill and against
the wind, but the commitment from all the team is superb.
With Grange making full use of the slope, we are on the back
foot, but look very dangerous on the break. A succession
of corners are dealt with superbly by the well marshalled
Yellow defence. Then a long ball is pumped up to Max, who
cuts across 2 defenders and slots it home. 2-1. Jack on for
Liam. Everybody in the team is playing exceptionally
well and despite a few last minute goal mouth flurries we
hold out to record a great result against a very good
team. Final score 2-1.
Well played everyone, the quality of your football and your
passion and desire today were spot on!
Thanks as ever to the parents for their great support.
