In a weather affected game and a very uneven playing
surface we took the field against a strong Braves line
up. Playing with the wind in our favour in the 1st half
we found it difficult to get our passing game going, the
very strong wind meant the ball was racing away and very
hard to control but once we had adapted we began to take
the game to the Braves. With very few chances in the early
stages we started to take control putting the Braves on
the back foot. From a very good 5 pass move the ball
made it's way to Liam who struck a fierce shot across the
Braves keeper only for the ball to go narrowly wide. At
the end of a Yellows dominated 1st half stalemate. 0 -
0.
2nd Half. Jack on for Liam, Alistair on for Scott. Still
the strong wind was having a detrimental effect on both
teams ability to play freeflowing football. With us
now playing uphill and against the wind the Braves pushed
us back without creating any clear cut chances as both
Charlie and Joe were in total control at the back. With
Jack in fine form on the left we were looking very dangerous
on the counter attack. From a great run the length of the
pitch from Jack we nearly took the lead, only for his final
shot to go narrowly wide. Final Score 0 - 0.
Only one winner today and unfortunately that was the
weather.
Well done to everybody for sticking with our passing
game on another day we would have won comfortably.
Thanks to the Parents and friends for their great
support as always.
