After last weeks goalless draw against Rothwell Braves
we were looking for a return to winning ways against
the Warriors. With both teams looking to play some free
flowing football the early stages were very open with
neither team on top but the standard and quality of football
was very high from both sides. From a break down the
middle by the Warriors, Kern produced a superb double
save to keep the scores level. Liam on for Jack. Both
teams were now pushing forward to try and break the deadlock
and right on the stroke of half time, Harry played a
superb through ball to Max who controlled the pass but
couldn't get any power in the shot. Half time 0 - 0.
2nd Half. Alistair on for Scott. Still both teams
were cancelling each other but with the slope now
in our favour we started to create more chances and the
Warriors keeper was the busier of the two. Scott back
on for Liam. From a great move down the right Scott sent
in a superb cross that Alistair was only inches away
from giving us the lead. From another good move, this
time on the left, Scott shot narrowly wide. With
us now in search of the winning goal and putting the
Warriors on the back foot we had to be careful not
to get caught on the break but with Kern, Charlie
and Joe in fine form that wasn't going to happen. With
neither team able to break the deadlock the game finished
0 - 0.
A very entertaining and physical game between two
teams who like to play good football.
