OUTSTANDING!
This is the only way I as a manager can describe the whole
team performance in todays brilliant victory against the
Generals Reds.
We started with John in defence, Fergus in the middle, & Tom & Kyle
attacking. It was a real first half battle with the ever
brilliant John making superb challenges. Fergus was the midfield
engine, & was fantastic as usual. Tom & Kyle were
making very good runs & were both unlucky not to score.
We limited the Reds to only a few attacks in the first half & went
in at the break 0-0.
Half time subs were made with Peter coming on for Kyle, Aiden
for John & Adam for Tom.
The changes saw us being more attacking with Aiden defending
very well, & Adam really getting stuck in with superb
challenges.
But it was Peter who broke away from his own half to score
a great solo goal for 1-0.
The minutes went by with us looking very solid & didn’t
look like conceding, until a long range volley sailed over
Matthews head to make it 1-1.
But we weren’t going to lose this match & you could
see the determination on their faces as just
after the restart, Fergus won the ball in midfield, who put
a lovely ball through to Peter who, despite being pulled
back, struck a hard shot into the top of the net. We then
only had a couple of minutes to keep the Reds away from our
goal & we did just that.
Simply outstanding performances from everyone, & even
praised by the oppositions manager.
