From a managers point of view, I thought this was our finest
performance of the season. The game had so many great moments
it is hard to name all of them.
But, after a slow start which saw us go 1-0 down, we started
to get on top. A hard low corner from Tom, found Kyle all
alone in the middle of the area, & composed himself to
fire a left foot shot into the bottom corner. 1-1. Then came
a fine solo goal from Tom, who, after winning the ball on
the half way line, turned & ran all the way to the goal & finished
with style. 1-2 Thrapston Town.
Hackleton then went on to score 2 more goals before half
time. 3-2 to Hackleton at half time.
Then came a goal moment to remember.
Straight from the second half restart, Fergus passed to Tom,
who ran on strongly towards the goal, spotted Fergus in space & slid
the ball through to him, & with virtually his first touch,
Fergus smashed the ball into the net. 3-3.
Our attacks were looking strong, & as Fergus battled
in the Harriers area he slid the ball across for Tom to tap
in from close range. 3-4 to Thrapston.
The Harriers then started to really go for it, & a late
attack saw them get the equalizer.
A superb game to watch, with brilliant performances from
the whole team.
