Despite another game with no substitutes Thrapston gave
as good as they got with both teams attacking but unable
to find the final finish during the first half.
Ryan Kirk’s speed and strength created problems for
Barton’s Centre backs but Paul Spicker’s rebound
off the cross bar to be saved on the goal line line
was the closest either team came to scoring in the first
half.
Barton came out the stronger in the second half, Thrapston
unable to break out of there own half. A defensive error
saw Barton chip Keeper Luke O’Dell. 0-1.
Determination and hard work kept the home team in the game
as Jordan Ward sucked in the Barton defence providing Reece
Evans the opportunity to finish a 6 yard box scramble to
even the score and take a valuable point.
