This week we needed to be focused as the blues were confident
and well organised after a string of successful results. Preparation
was the key and prepared we were as straight from the off,
we put them under pressure and went on the attack. Some great
battling in the middle of the park from Kyran and exceptional
wing play from Harry and Scott meant that it would only be
a matter of time before we got our first goal. After a bit
of a scuffle just inside the blues area, Max flicked the ball
up and volleyed home a great shot to make it 1-0. Soon after
that and with some good football being played, Scott hit a
thunderbolt from outside the blues area to make it 2-0.
Half time and substitutes were made:
Liam on for Kyran
Jack on for Max
Alistair on for Scott
2nd half was a bit different as the blues came fighting back
to get a goal. We soaked up some pressure for a short while
with some great defending from Joe and Charlie and the blues
coming close on a few occasions before we went on the attack
again with all 3 substitutes having an immediate impact. A
good move down the right and a great cross in led to a good
goal headed in by Liam to make it 3-0. To finish the game
off, another good passing move down the left lead to Harry
getting the ball in the box to be 1 on 1 with the keeper of
which he calmly slotted home a shot to make the final score
4-0. Credit where credits due, the blues were a difficult
team to beat and they played some great football, however,
we took the game to them and for that we should be proud of
ourselves. Well done to all the players on both teams for
playing the game as it should be with great sportsmanship
and a big thank you to Anthony for refereeing. Thanks to all
the parents for their usual loyal support and today’s
man of the match award goes to “Scott “for his
grit and determination to succeed in the position he was given.
