Experimental time this week, a chance to change
the line up and see what players can do in different positions
and out of their comfort zone.
Starting line up: Kern Charlie
Liam Alistair Jack Scott Joe.
Subs: Max, Kyran.
With most
players taking the field in different positions to those
that they are used to playing in, and with a different formation
it was going to be an interesting half. The players adapted
well and after a few minutes began to find their feet and
laid siege to the Gold’s goal. Nice work from Joe (playing
in midfield for the first time) saw him unleash an unstoppable
shot 0-1, soon after Scott made it 2-0 with a blockbuster
from outside the box. Chance after chance then went begging
as wave after wave of attack was launched on the Gold’s
goal but they managed to survive to half time with the score
only 0-2.
2nd half. Kyran on for Alistair and Max (salivating
at the prospect of getting on the end of some superb build
up play) on for Jack. Scott makes it 0-3 then Max scores
a 5 minute hat-trick to make it 0-6. Jack on for Max. A great
solo run and finish from Kyran makes it 0-7. Alistair on
for Charlie. Max on for Liam. The quality of the play is
now superb with the Yellows using the whole of the pitch
to open up the Gold’s defence, only some fine goalkeeping
and near misses was keeping the score down. Just to finish
things off Max buries two more to make the final score 0-9.
Well done to everybody including the Gold’s, not many
teams would have lived with us today!
Thanks to the parents
and friends for their great support as usual.
