Thrapston were 0 – 1 up within a minute
of the start of the game; Kai Robinson scoring his first
of two. Thrapston doubled their lead after fifteen minutes
when Jason Styles finished well on the break. Earls Barton
struggled to deal with the long clearances from the Thrapston
keeper and should have had a bigger lead if opportunities
were taken. Mid way through the half the home side started
to press and were rewarded with a goal from a corner which
Thrapston failed to clear. Barton were soon back to 2 – 2
after the away side were caught on the break and the striker
shot to beat the Thrapston keeper.
The second period saw
Thrapston dominate for most of the half and their persistence
paid off when a good passing move ended with Kai Robinson
scoring his second. Shortly after Thrapston extended their
lead when Jason Styles hit a volley in the top corner to
kill off the game. Final score 2 – 4.
