After last weeks great game against Generals Blue, this week
we were up against Generals Red hoping to get back on a winning
run.
The 1st half saw us totally dominate play without much end
product. The Reds at times were playing with 3 at the back
which we have come up against a few times this season and
is very difficult at times to break down but shows how much
respect other teams are showing us! With Kern virtually a
bystander in goal for nearly all of the half the Reds found
the ball continually coming back at them but try as we might
and with the Reds keeper in fine form we couldn’t break
down their defence.
Half time 0-0.
2nd Half. Max on for Jack. In an attempt to break the deadlock
we bombed forward but still the Reds back line held firm.
Scott on for Alistair, Harry on for Kyran. A great shot from
Scott then rattled the crossbar and Harry forced a great save
from their keeper, who pushed the ball onto the post and out
for a corner. With our continued dominance but inability to
find the net there was always the danger that we could get
caught on the break (which happened in last years corresponding
fixture)
but with Joe and Charlie in control at the back that was
never going to happen. Despite our dominance of the game we
were unable to break down a very stubborn defence and the
game finished 0-0.
Not one of our best performances today but a game which we
totally controlled without creating too many chances.
