Games against the Rothwell teams are always battles and today
was no exception. Right from the off the game was a very physical
encounter. Some early pressure from the Warriors put us on
the back foot, but with the defence holding firm we weathered
the storm and started to stamp our authority on the match.
From a good move down the right, Max cut inside and let fly
from the edge of the box. The ball bounced just before the
keeper and flew into the corner of the goal. Jack on for Ali.
Half time 0-1.
The same team took the field for the 2nd half and continued
where they left off, working hard and battling well. With
the help of the slope the Warriors pushed us back but we held
firm and always looked dangerous on the break. Scott on for
Kyran. From a corner from Scott, Max saw a header go inches
over. As the Warriors became more frustrated by our control
and organisation at the back a few tackles started flying
in, but we held our own and ran out winners 0-1.
Another good performance today particularly from the defence
of Charlie and Joe in a game that was more like a cup tie.
Well done to everybody for working hard and battling well
in another tough and physical game against the Warriors.
