Thrapston Town 11 v Grange United 1
A first ever afternoon outing was to prove a
stroll in the park for the Thrapston Killers.
Sam’s Town were out to ensure that there was no hot
fuss and no cup shock, as they took to the field full of confidence
after a good start to the season.
Town got off to the best of starts, one up inside a minute,
when Devante Hodgson was set through on the keeper and converted.
Soon Tom Alsop was in on the act, heading two and side footing
another to grab a first half hat trick, and put Thrapston
firmly in control at the break.
According to my list, Zane Oliver headed number five, Hodgson
got number six and Robert Winfield pounced on a goalkeeper
error for number seven. Alsop returned to the fray to grab
number eight and Hodgson completed his hat trick to make it
nine. James Wordingham scored his first goal for the club
to make it ten, before Alsop completed the scoring with his
fifth to make it eleven. Why do I keep counting?
All in all enough for Town to keep looking on the brightside.
Smile like you mean it as the cup fun continues next week,
same time same place.
Final Score Thrapston Eleven, Grange One.
MOTM – On a day for the goal scorers, the MOTM went
to a rock at the heart of the defence, Kyle Oliver, who never
gave the Grange attackers a sniff all afternoon.
