A small pitch made for a fast game with both
sides working hard. Lodge’s best first half chances
came from corners. Thrapston’s Jack Rawcliffe and Jordan
Ward kept the crosses coming to be beaten each time by the
Ise Lodge Keeper and Danny Smith with a free role in central
midfield kept the home team at bay. It took 60 minutes before
Ise Lodge slotted through the Thrapston defense to make it
1-0 against the run of play. Thrapston dug deep, stepped up
a gear and Carlos Lewis hit the crossbar followed by both
Paul Spicker and Reece Evans failing to score by a whisker.
Lodge’s lead was short lived as Jack Rawcliffe took
his chance and drove low and hard from outside the 18 yard
box to make it 1-1 at full time.
