Despite creating more than ten chances in the
first half, Thrapston couldn’t finish; a theme of recent
games and went in at half time 2 – 0 down after getting
caught on the break for both Grange goals.
The second half saw much of the same, but the
difference was in the finishing. Jason Styles reduced the
lead shortly after the restart; finishing well after a good
run on the right. Thrapston then equalised shortly after,
Sam Nowlan breaking fee and scoring his first of the season.
The away side then took the lead, Josh Catchpole meeting a
perfect cross for a headed goal. Thrapston extended the lead
even further when James Barlow’s shot was driven passed
a diving keeper to make it 2 - 4. Grange came back almost
immediately, scoring on the break, and then a further attack
saw the Thrapston defence scramble the ball away after hitting
the post. Thrapston countered once again creating and missing
more chances before Kai Robinson turned on the edge of the
box and shot for the best goal of the game. Thrapston conceded
a further goal with minutes remaining but held on to record
a well deserved victory.
