The score somewhat flattered the experienced
and highly-successful away team in a furiously-paced and charged
competitive match, in which the newly-formed Gold team found
themselves taught a lesson in passing football.
Thrapston came charging out of the blocks and put the Ise
Lodge goal under pressure for the first 15 minutes until a
penalty for handball took that impetus away. Lewis heroically
kept the score down as wave after wave assaulted the Gold
penalty box.
Matthew and Harry did their best as Jordan battled to provide
service to the surging runs of Craig, Thomas and Lucaas. Ethan
came on in goal in the 2nd half and provided some exciting
saves as Josh battled to kick-start the attacks. However,
inexperience and tiredness crept in and simple mistakes undid
the good work of Jack and Matt and the goals finally came
flooding in from a determined opposition.
The Ise Lodge Manager made a point of coming across to praise
the Gold team and assure them their skill did them proud and
the victories were not far away!
The coaching team agree that everyone played their hearts
out this week and we’re very proud of them.
Man of the Match was Matthew. Outstanding and battling throughout.
