So to our last League game of the season, ironically against our opponents from last week, Vic Farm. After our previous great performance against them, Vic Farm were looking to put things right straight away. The early exchanges were fairly even with both sides trying to push forward but it was Thrapston who made the breakthrough. A free kick on the edge of the Farm box saw Joe get on the end of Connor's perfectly weighted cross with an unstoppable header, 1 - 0. With the game a little scrappy at times Thrapston were still trying to play possession football. Josh on for Hayden. Harry was seeing more and more of the ball in midfield and from a nice move down the right he cut inside and let fly with his left foot only for the ball to strike the bottom of the upright but Max with great striker's instinct followed up to make the score 2 - 0. .
Half time 2 - 0.
2nd Half. Jack on for Harry, Kern on for Luke.
The 2nd half started much the same as the first with both sides trying to play but a little untidy at times, however Thrapston were looking the team the more likely to score. Andrew on for Dean. A succession of good short passes saw the ball fall to Andrew who for the 2nd week on the trot made no mistake and fired into the roof of the Farm net. 3 - 0. With us now firmly on top we were starting to play some good stuff with the ball switching from one side of the pitch to the other pulling the Farm defence all over the place. Dean on for Max. Another good passage of play with Harry controlling the ball superbly on the edge of the box he turned and hit a great shot to put us 4 - 0 up. Max on for Josh. Right near the end with us now surging forward Jack crossed to Max who set up Joe who hit another great shot to complete the scoring.
Final Score TTJFC 5 Vic Farm 0
A good performance again this week; 10 goals in a week without conceding any says it all. Well done!!!
With our League games now over, it looks as though we'll finish 2nd or 3rd. It's been a great finish in the League from us we're now 9 games unbeaten having scored 32 goals and only conceding 8 in that time, we can now look forward with great anticipation to the Cup Final in May.
To the parents, grandparents and friends who come to watch us every week a massive thanks for your support and encouragement you give to us all.
