Thrapston put in a hard working performance and came away easy 3 – 1 victors.
An even first half saw both teams squander chances and Thrapston were the first to score when Connor Ryan controlled the ball well and placed a delicate lob over the keeper. On numerous occasion Thrapston had opportunities but failed to make the most of them. 5 mins before half time Thrapston conceded a soft penalty for Corby to equalize from.
Thrapston started the second half strongly and some good interchange of passes between Will Yates, Connor Ryan and Luke Stevens saw Matty Smith score a tap in following a shot from Luke Stevens. Thrapston were rarely troubled defensively and this was due to some great tackling from “Man of the Match” Jake Hankins. Thrapston continued to pressure and were awarded a penalty of their own, which Luke Stevens calmly dispatched into the bottom right hand corner.

This was a great team effort, which saw us play as a unit, confident at the back and strong at the front. Well played today lads.
