Thrapston Town
2 v Vicarage Farm
1
If Arsene Whinger had been watching today, he would have noted players playing with passion for each other on both teams. He would have noted superb defensive displays and a great advert for this league. He could have noted how to deal with 2 teams who have fast attacking pace. He will have noted players respecting decisions from the man in black and just getting on with it.
Rewind Rewind, Of course he wasn’t there, and if he was ??????? Do you think he would have seen it.
I was there and enjoyed for the 3rd time this season a battle for supremacy between these 2 teams. Yes on each occasion Thrapston have come out winners, but only by the smallest of margins and only because they have shown the will and power to win.
Enter Connor Morson …………again. This lad really shows what the will to win is all about. Great blocks ,challenges, and a headed clearance from off the line was worth the entrance money on its own. This was Thrapston today, 2-0 up with yet another Josh Ledward goal and a header from Devante Hodgson, they lost both centre backs again through injury and battled hard to keep out a good second half response from VF.
This game – a six pointer as they call them was there to be won – both teams played their hearts out, both defences were absolutely superb against 2 very pacey forward lines.
We could mention everyone from both teams for a good performance and effort. It was a hard fought game, enjoyed by all watching.
4 games to go, and 12 more points to play for. The season is not over yet. More of this spirit today will help us on the way.
