On a bumpy pitch and with a wind blowing straight down the middle, Thrapston were fielding a changed side due to an injury to Kai Robinson, but Brett Manchette was back in the side after a long lay off, due to his broken toe. Boro Alliance started the game well with a very early goal, after some poor defending by Thrapston. It took Thrapston a while to adjust to the conditions and the pitch, but after 15 mins Thrapston drew level following a good finish by Jedd Whiteman. Before half time Boro went ahead after Thrapston’s defence and goalkeeper failed to deal with an in swinging cross, making the half time score 2-1 to Boro Alliance.
After some strong words from the coach and a slight adjustment to the formation Thrapston started the second half pumped up and ready to try and keep their unbeaten record intact. After some good build up play by Joe Baxter, Jason Styles and Josh Wesby, the ball fell to Jedd Whiteman who calmly lobbed the keeper then slotted the ball home, making it all square. With Thrapston’s tails up and now playing some good football, it was again Jedd Whiteman who headed in following a good corner by Josh Wesby to complete his hat-trick. Thrapston continued to battled well up until the final whistle, making the final score 3-2 to Thrapston. This result was well deserved following Thrapston’s belief and willingness not to give up. Well done to all of the lads!!!!
