Today luck was on our side. We missed training last night and from the kick off Volta proved to be a strong opposition. In a same manner as last week we were pushed back and strong defending from Harry and Daniel kept the pressure off Kyle our first half goalie. We had a few breaks with Braeden and Chris but little success. As we settled in the game and Chris and Daniels hard work started to balance the game. A few corners came our way by the pressure play by Ryan after an excellent corner from Daniel caused Volta to concede an own goal. The efforts of Volta increased and the game was up and down the pitch. Jacko worked hard both in building attacks and helping defense. Bram required to clear a lot of well created changes by Volta. But another corner from Daniel gave us the 2-0. Again an own header rolled in the net. Volta’s defense was very unlucky.
Second half Thrapston tried to creat their own goal with most of us creating chances, but Volta’s keeper was able to prevent further damage. As Volta kept the pressure on us with at times physical play they created changes at our end. Strong defending by Braeden and again faultless keeping from Chris kept our sheet clean.
We had quite a few hard fought matches where luck was not with us, now this game went our way. We missed the killer instinct of our top scorer, but hard work, good team play and constant pressure lead to our win today.
Everybody well done but for his hard work in the first half and again a strong performance from our regular keeper the Man of the Match was Christopher.
