On a bright afternoon and perfect conditions for football Thrapston eagerly awaited their first game for 7 weeks. Thrapston started the game well creating several good opportunities but failed to hit the target on numerous occasions. Finally George Gardner scored from a rebound following a good run by Kai Robinson. The first half continued to be dominated by Thrapston, with good performances by Ryan Gavin and Peter Whight. Half time 1 – 0 to Thrapston. The second half saw a change in personnel following Ryan Gavin’s injury, with Josh Catchpole slotting in a centre back. The game was a little scrappy, but Thrapston still had most of the lion’s share of the game. Thrapston were then awarded a penalty, which Josh Wesby coolly put away. Mike Cooke then set up Thrapston’s third with a great ball for Kai Robinson to finish well. Jedd Whiteman then completed the scoring with his shot going in off both post. Final score Great Oakley 0 – 4 Thrapston.
