After the long break both teams were very eager to show their improvements. Corby started very strong and we were pushed back on our half. Daniel and Harry were sound in defense which meant Alex did not have much to do in goal. Harry and Bram provide a few breaks and the running effort of Jack P. was impressive. As the game progressed and we started to pass more, the balance began to tip our way. Refreshing our side with Chris and Braeden give the input required and a brilliant run of Braeden, after a good pass from Daniel gave us the 0-1.
The second half saw Thrapston in better control of the game, and more on Corby’s half of the pitch. Ryan had the ball glued to his feet a few times, but we could not covert. Our forward play gave Corby their chances on the counter. Hard work from Harry and steady defending from Bram prevented Corby from getting a chance on an equalizer. Half way through the second half Jack P had a good run after hard work from Braeden. 0-2!. Sadly Braeden was injured and Alex took over from him.
Hard work on both sides kept the game very entertaining and Thrapston trying to close the game gave Corby more room, but Chris used the opportunity to prove his excellent goal keeping talents. We achieved a hard fought, well deserved win.
Everybody worked very hard and the passing, creating space in the second half gives much to build on for future games. Man of the Match was Harry, he had worked very hard in midfield and with his excellent tackles to break Corby attacks and helpful passes during our attacks made him a very valuable player.
