Blues started the New Year in fine style with a 6-0 victory over Desborough Town. Playing down the slope with a strong wind at their backs Thrapston went in 2-0 up at the break with two Joseph Wright finishes separating the teams. Any fears that Thrapston would struggle when it became their turn to play up the slope against the wind were banished within seconds of the restart when Joseph Wright smashed in a wonder goal from over 25 yards to complete his hatrick. Sam Rouwenhorst made it 4 with a powerful free kick, Matthew Sharpe added a fifth with a neat right foot finish in the area and Harley Boddington on his Blues debut made it 6 to complete a fine win.
