A tactical switch and a new challenge saw us burst out of the blocks and push Higham onto the back foot. With the ball at times being passed around with style we started off very well but with Higham holding a very high line it was difficult to break down their well organised defence. Totally against the run of play and from their 1st real attack Higham took the lead with Luke in goal very unlucky not to stop a great strike. 0 - 1.Hayden on for Scott and Andrew on for the injured Jack. Still all the football was being played by the Yellows and from a succession of great corners from Dean we equalised with Connor rising majestically to bury a header into the Higham net.
Half time 1 - 1.
2nd half. Scott on for Josh. With the amount of possession we had in the 1st half the game should have been out of sight. A cracking ball from Andrew put Max through on goal only for him to be scythed down in the box. From the resulting penalty Joe again made no mistake. 2 - 1. Only a finger tip save by Kern and a header off the line by Joe from a rare Higham attack kept our noses in front. Some more good work down the left saw Max beat the last defender and as the keeper came out he slotted the ball past him to increase our lead. 3 - 1. We were well on top now and only the woodwork and some fine goalkeeping was keeping the score down. With time running out to add to the score line the Higham's keeper made another great save and as the ball came out Andrew delivered an inch perfect cross for Max to score his 2nd and our 4th. Final score TTJFC 4 Higham Colts 1.
A change in system today 3 - 4 - 3 a good test for any team and we proved that we have the ability to adapt. Well done everyone another good performance.
