With a strong wind blowing against us in the first half this proved to be a very tough game. Despite some good attacking play and many chances neither side managed to score before half time, Alex made some good saves to keep a clean sheet.
We started stronger in the second half and with the wind now with us we looked like scoring. With Christopher doing a good job in goal, Jack R made some good runs and some creative passes, Harry was rock solid and reliable with his tackles and Bram was strong and skilled in defense and attack. Our goals came fairly thick and fast, Braeden scored the first and the second, with some really top class finishes. We then conceded a goal on the break which Weekly took well, but we fired straight back with an attack which resulted in an own goal, which left us 3 1 up. With the wind in our favour, Kyle tried a looping shot from about 20 yards out, this sailed into the top right hand corner of the goal, another great finish. At 4-1 the game was all but over and Jack P kept up his goal scoring record with a wonderful individual goal just a few minutes from the end.
A great game played in very good spirits; Weekly were professional and sporting to the end, as well as being respectfully well supported. We played some really attractive and mature football which bodes well for our last game of the season next week.
