Thrapston returned to winning ways against Earls Barton with a good 4 – 2 victory. They battled right from the start and went 1 up early on when a good run and cross from Luke Stevens was put into the net by Matthew Smith. The second goal soon followed when Luke Stevens broke away and coolly lobbed the keeper. Earls Barton battled back and soon scored with a well-taken goal. Just before half time Jake Lockart came on for the injured Connor Gates and with his first touch scored!! This put Thrapston 3 – 1 up at half time.
Second half saw Thrapston dominate although they lacked the clinical finish on many occasions and the Earls Barton keeper was also on top form and made a number of excellent saves. Thrapston conceded a penalty to make it 3 – 2 however, Jake Lockart scored his second of the game and Thrapstons 4th when Matthew Watkin played a defence splitting through ball which Jake calmly slotted home.
A good game of football played hard and fair by both teams
Man of the Match: - Josh Smikle for some great saves.
