This was the match the whole squad were looking forward to with some nervousness; everyone knew of Hackleton Harriers unbeaten track record this season and this made the team even more determined. Thrapston started well and defended strongly, some great tackles from Braeden and Bram and some vital saves in goal by Jack Reed. The game was very tight in the first half, both teams breaking and attacking, it was from one such break that we went one goal up, scored by Jack Peet.
The Harriers came back after the break with renewed determination and several times tested the skill of our second half keeper Kyle who made some great saves. Alex got some great runs in and Harry seemed to be everywhere at once, tackling and attacking. Our gutsy determination paid off with a second goal again scored by Jack Peet, followed fairly shortly afterwards with a wonderful goal scored by Daniel. The score finished a convincing three nil.
Every player today made a fantastic contribution to the match, there was great passing, defending, turning and running into space. After such a performance it is hard to single out one player, but both coaches felt for his attitude, skill and energy that Braeden be made man of the match.
