Thrapston Blue ran out 3 – 1 winners in this game but were guilty in squandering a hat full of chances which against stronger teams may prove costly.
Blues played some good passing football down the slope and Joseph Wright put Thrapston 1 – 0 up when a Matthew Sharpe shot rebounded off the goalkeeper for Wright to tap home. The game took a twist when a looping shot beat Tom Stoker to make it 1 – 1 and for a few minutes the game turned into a tense affair until Wright returned the favour as his shot was not gathered by the keeper and Matthew Sharpe finished.
Nathan Butler made it 3 for his fourth of the season and from then on Thrapston looked comfortable but should have added to the three goal tally.
