Today was the first after the coaches had achieved their level one, and the team did themselves proud.
From the kick off Thrapston dominated. Braeden and Ryan were all over the Corby defense, but it took a while before Braeden opened the score. In quick concession the score had moved up by Ryan. Bringing in Jack P added to the score and later Chris completed the half time score line on 0-7. Corby had one real chance, but Bram in goal had a bit of luck which meant our sheet remained clean.
At half time Daniel was asked to join the strikers from defense and he talied up the score together with Braeden, Ryan, Jack P and Jack R. Alex and Bram were unlucky to be left out of the score line as all had decent chances. Not only was the number of goals impressive, also the way we created the chances with passes and individual skills. The finishes were skillfully executed much to the delight of the supports. Corby was able to create a few breaks, but good tactical goal keeping from Chris prevented them from becoming dangerous.
It was obvious that our long working together out classed us against a newly started Corby team. But the skill, effort and tactical delivery of a very good game would have made us a dangerous opponent for most.
Well done, and let’s hope we can keep up the good results.
