We knew at the start today was going to be a tight game. We had beaten the other Ise Lodge team, but that was a tough game, and the Eagles are their first team.
We started strong with Alex and Daniel defending strong and supporting Harry (our captain) and Braeden up front. The game was up and down on the pitch at high pace. It was Alex who was at the beginning of our first real chance. He was brought down in the box, penalty for Daniel. A brave safe from the Ise Lodge keeper kept the balance. Ise Lodge created a few chances but Ryan kept our side clean. Bringing Jack and Chris did not change the balance and at half time it was till 0-0.
Harry took over from Ryan in goal and with Ryan up front again we had chances in front of the Ise Lodge goal. Ise Lodge kept well organized and came close a few times. In the dying minutes of the game Ise Lodge had a lucky shot at goal and slippery grass and ball prevent Harry to pin it down, just over the line and we were 1-0 down. We kept fighting till the end but the much deserved equalizer did not come.
We did not deserve to loose, but that’s football. We had better individual skills, but Ise Lodge was better organized. We have taken much away from this game and hope to have a bit more luck the next game.
All well done, but Alex was our man of the match as he had improved most.
