A much improved performance than previous weeks saw the Blues draw 2-2 with FC Aztec Warriors.
Starting with Mathew in goal, John, Jake, Kyle, Peter and Tom, a goal from the Warriors saw us go 1-0 down.
However, our attacking formation saw us put the Warriors under pressure which was rewarded with a corner that went straight across the face of the goal for the perfectly positioned Kyle to find the ball with the outside of his foot.
A little later Tom took the ball from a Warriors kick from the keeper and laid it through to Peter who pushed on and buried the ball for a 1-2 lead. We should have gone in at half time with a 3 or 4 goal lead but goal line clearances and a great save from the Warriors keeper denied us.
The second half saw Adam come on for John and Fergus on for Peter. The Warriors got their equalizer soon after the restart when we went to sleep at a throw-in near our penalty area and allowed the ball to be thrown over our heads to a free man in the box who scored.
Again, sustained pressure denied us a winning goal as Fergus hit the post.
Overall a good performance.
MOM
Kyle for an excellent display of movement, passing and dribbling.
