Blues started the game playing some of their best attacking football for a long time creating a host of good chances. Nathan Butler could have had a hat-trick but for some brave Yellows defending, however it took a deflected free kick from Matthew Sharpe to break the dead lock midway through the first half. Joseph Wright added a brace to send Blues in 3-0 up at the break his second the result of some smart thinking by Matthew Sharpe and Nathan Butler with a short corner. Early in the second half George Peet coolly finished after intercepting a goal kick to put Blues 4-0 up. With the game won a number of substitutions meant that Blues lost some of their shape but Yellows rarely threatened.
MOM – George Peet. His best performance of the season.
