An even start saw some end-to-end play. Playing their
first league match together Thrapston had just started to
settle when Ise Lodge opened the scoring mid way through
the first half. The goal seemed to unsettle the team slightly
and the second Ise Lodge goal came 5 minutes later. That
goal proved to be the final score of the game as Thrapston
rallied and showed a lot of spirit in their efforts to get
back into the match.
The second half was an even contest with both teams going
close on several occasions. Some fine goalkeeping and
defending denied Ise Lodge another goal. We were unlucky
not to score after great movement going forward from the
midfield and forwards.
A result that did not reflect the effort put in by all the
boys present at the match today. In warm sunshine the
under 10 yellow team did not stop running. We might
have lost the match but the boys should be proud of themselves.
