A scrappy affair today with both sides trying to overcome a fierce wind and a bobbly pitch. The Yellows started the better of the 2 teams putting the Colts defence under pressure. An early setback saw Ben going off injured to be replaced by Andrew. From a break on the right the ball was switched to Max who beat 2 defenders before coolly slotting home 0 - 1. With us starting to boss the game without really playing any decent football we should have extended our lead, but some fine keeping by the Colts keeper saw us go in at half time with a narrow 0 -1 lead.

 

2nd half. Josh on for Jack. As has been typical of us so far this season the inability to convert our 1st half chances comes back to haunt us early in the 2nd half and low and behold the same thing happened again.The Colts broke away and got themselves level with a shot from the edge of the box that Kern in goal was unable to do anything about as the ball sailed into the net. 1 - 1,game on.

The game was now very even with both sides pushing forward in search of the winner. Luke on for Andrew.

With us beginning to lose control in midfield a tactical substitution saw Dean replaced by Jack and within 5 minutes we were back in front, from a slide rule pass by Jack, Max was 1 on 1 with the Colts keeper and he made no mistake 1 - 2 . Ben on for Scott. A couple of further chances went begging at both ends but the Yellows held firm and went on to record a well deserved 1st win of the season.

 

Well done everyone, tough conditions today made a difficult for both sides to play any quality football.
