0
The Bittern, The red crested Warbler, A happy Northern Rock Investor, Someone who thinks Avram Grant will still be Chelsea manager at xmas, Hens Teeth, A Thrapston clean sheet.
All of these are rarities, but get on the phone to the papers, yes one of these was seen today down at Chancery Lane in the 2 o’clock kick off.
This clean sheet was all the more welcome, and was earned by the lads in respect of Chris Gardner who suffered a broken leg this week whilst playing for the school.
Going forward, Thrapston always looked dangerous, some great little touches and knock ons helped create chances to score in the first half.
Goals from D Hodgson (2) R Hodgson and T Alsop sent the lads in 4-0 at half time.
In the second half, Rockingham created more chances, but were mainly shots from the edge of the box which failed to trouble the impressive Thrapston keeper.
The chances for Town came……………………….and went, one of which would have been goal of the season. The ball was quickly released by Alex Vitue in the Thrapston goal, Tom Alsop ran onto it in his own half, around a Rockingham player, all the way to the edge of the box, put in a ferocious shot, which cannoned back from the cross bar.
The scoreline was completed with a tap in from Robert (man of the match) Winfield following a great move and a Hodgson cross.
So 5-0 the score , Thrapstons best performance of the season so far – And Chris, this one was for you buddy.
