In perfect conditions for football both teams started slowly with neither team adjusting to the early kick off time. In a scrappy first half both sides created very little, although Thrapston went ahead a little fortuitously with a long free kick from Brett Manchette bouncing straight over the Burton’s keepers head. The second half started similar to the first half with no real goal scoring chances being created. Thrapston then increased their lead when Kai Robinson’s cross was put into their own net by a Burton defender. Burton got back into the game following a corner, then equalized after Thrapston’s defence failed to clear their lines.
