A great way to start the new season, beating Corby Hellenic
Fisher Youth.
The score line, 5-0, an exclamation point to a superb performance.
The passing and movement shown by Thrapston Blues really
was a joy to behold from the KO to the final whistle.
A cross from Fergus, caught on Peter’s chest and dropping
to Tom saw him slide it past the keeper and Thrapston took
a 1-0 lead. Corby barely ventured into the last third of
the field and it was only a matter of time before a great
series of passes gave Peter a shot from the right which the
Corby keeper saved, only to have Tom score from the rebound.
2-0 at half time.
For the second half Kyle came on for Peter who had taken
a few knocks. In defense Adam and Dominic replaced John and
Jake and although the entire backline was replaced the performance
did not change. As solid as Jake and John were in the 1st
half, so Dominic and Adam were in the second.
Tom secured his hat trick with a scrappy 3rd goal,
but they all count at the end of the day.
The 4th goal started from a throw in that made its way to
Tom who slammed the ball in from just inside the edge of
the box.
The 5th and final goal was as smooth as smooth can be. Kyle
took the ball at half way and raced out to the left before
a sublime pass with the outside of his foot into the path
of Tom, tearing down the middle. Back of the net, 5-0 !

The whole team deserved it but for 5 well taken goals it
had to go to Tom Francis.
